I deleted most of my website. I'm only keeping these projects up. I'm done with MvC2.
This website contains Marvel vs. Capcom 2 combo, tutorial, situational and reset videos. Essentially, exhibitionist combo videos are a visual presentation of what the creator considers interesting in the game. In the case of MvC2, Japanese combo video maker Joo (pronounced 'joe') and I spent roughly 9 years making combo videos. Our projects are a demonstration of deconstructing the game's engine by method of meticulously testing every possible variable, and then presenting the interesting findings in video form. The majority of our projects were achieved by using programmable controllers in order to circumvent the limitations of manual execution. Programmable controllers are game pads which allow the creator to input commands at 1/60th of a second. Having that much control allowed us to explore ideas to their fullest potential. Since manual execution was not a factor when creating content, the ideas are the centerpiece of our videos.
Joo's work is all catalogued in the Joo's DVD page. The combo DVD is his best project. However, the page also contains links to the Meikyousisui videos that he made from 2000-2006.
My best project is Variable Atmosphere 2. However, the other projects are also interesting to me in their own different way, so I decided to keep them online.
