Please check back regularly for updates. There is usually about one update per month. Please do hit me up if you encounter issues/concerns/confusion. I recommend using the latest non-beta version, but the beta versions usually have new/improved stuff. The PalMod guides can be found here.

Current Version:
Version 1.80: New support for Daraku Tenshi, Fighters History, Fighters History 3 (SNES), Kizuna Encounter (Steam), Marvel Cosmic Invasion (Steam), Neo Turf Masters, Real Bout Fighter Fury 2 (Steam), and Virtua Fighter 2 (Genesis). Tons more and updated previews. Capture color at cursor (CTRL+SHIFT+C, CTRL+SHIFT+V, CTRL+SHIFT+N, CTRL+SHIFT+A): better color capture. We now work harder to get the mouse out of the way so that the application draws the actual color. Drag and drop game ROMs onto PalMod and we'll load it for you if we know about it. (If it matches multiple games, such as ROM filename "50", we'll prompt you to choose which game to load it as.) Mapping palettes: PalMod will now generate game-compatible mapping palettes when you use the Tools : Mapping Palettes menu. Note that these are optimized for the currently loaded game and will work much better than any generic mapping palettes. PNG-as-droppable-preview: You can now use normal or WinKawaks PNGs as replacement previews. Makes generating previews much easier. Various perf improvements.

The ZIP and the EXE version contain the exact same files. The EXE includes a normal Nullsoft installer if you like that and is smaller. I build the 64bit version irregularly for people stuck using 64bit Windows emulation: hit me up if you particularly need a newer build of it.

Since 1.22 way back in 2008: Added support for about 250 new games (plus their variants - we should now support all major sprite based classic fighting games); support for most common palette file types (GPL, PAL, TPL, IMPL, CFPL, PRPL, etc); support for most common replacement preview file types (RAW, PNG, GIF); drag and drop support for everything logical; indexed PNG export so that your PNGs contain the palette data and be very usefully shared; "Unknown Game" mode for ROM exploration; global color picker (press CTRL+SHIFT+V to have PalMod paste whatever color your mouse cursor is over); Windows 10 Color Picker Power Toy paste support; thousands of new previews; many thousands of more known palettes; high DPI support, 24/32 bit color support; large palette support, support for more color formats, multisprite export, IPS patch output, Unicode, faster and uses less memory, secondary (connected) palette processing for more games (KOF02UM_S, MSH, MSHVSF, MVC, MvC2, SF3, and XMVSF), and important bug fixes especially for MvC2-Dreamcast. Please do not use 1.22: it is old and buggy. You want the latest non-beta version.
